Description:

The individual will be responsible for developing a state-of-the-art program within Sensory & Product Guidance to gain a deep understanding of taste perception and sensory attribute interactions and their importance to consumer acceptance. The individual will also drive and serve as a technical expert in a design of experiments approach to product development across the R&D organization.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Design leading edge sensory research to understand taste perception and sensory attribute interactions. Manage all phases of the study including experimental design, test execution, statistical analyses and reporting of results. Translate research into actionable solutions and competitive advantages for the Campbell Soup Company. (40%)

2. Drive and support a design of experiments discipline within the R&D organization. Provide training and education within the R&D organization. (40%)

3. Provide statistical expertise and direction to Global Sensory & Product Guidance. (10%)

4. Leverage external networks to identify opportunities to enhance and build consumer research capabilities. (10%)

Job Complexity

* Ability to translate complex statistical principles and designs into practical, meaningful applications.

* Design, execute and implement effective research to gain valuable sensory insights and understanding of taste perception.

* Design effective research to gain a deep understanding of sensory attributes of products and their impact on consumer acceptability.

* Ability to review, analyze and approve research proposals.

* Able to translate analytical data into clear strategy.

* Build sensory research capability and demonstrate potential value.

* Able to effective coach and train others in statistical approaches and procedures.

Education & Experience
Minimum education required: BS in Statistics, Experimental Psychology or Consumer Research
Education Preferred: MS or PhD in Statistics, Experimental Psychology or Consumer Research with emphasis in experimental design, data analysis and modeling.
Minimum Experience: 7 to 10 years sensory or consumer research experience

Qualifications

* MS or PhD in Statistics, Experimental Psychology or Consumer Research with emphasis in experimental design, data analysis and modeling.

* 5 or more years sensory or consumer research experience.

* Strong statistical experience with emphasis on Behavioral Sciences and experimental design.

* Strong skills in analysis of consumer data with a focus on driver analysis and segmentation.

* Experience in choice modeling techniques.

* Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)

* Ability to work in a team environment.
